Women Entrepreneurs in Vermi compost Production
Women Empowerment & Livelihood Development
We empower women in tribal villages around Jambughoda and Ratanmahal Wildlife Sanctuaries by organizing them into Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Through these groups, we provide training, financial guidance, and access to government schemes that support small businesses in agriculture, livestock, and micro-enterprises. Our efforts foster economic independence, build confidence, and encourage rural entrepreneurship, ultimately strengthening livelihoods and creating more resilient, empowered communities.
A women’s Self-Help Group (Mahavir Sakhi Mandal) from Targol village, near Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary, successfully launched a vermicomposting production unit with a bank loan of ₹1.48 Lakh through SHG–bank linkage support. With training and ongoing mentoring, the group created vermicomposting beds and began producing organic fertilizer using locally sourced materials. Their initiative has already started generating income, with the group selling vermicomposting to local farmers.
Beneficiaries – 10 Women.
